Reser's recalls meats due to possible contamination

Posted October 23, 2013

Kansas-based Reser’s Fine Foods has recalled about 22,800 pounds of chicken, ham and beef products due to possible bacterial contamination, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Tuesday.

The products were sold to retailers and distributors in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and 24 other states. Testing determined the possibility of cross-contamination from product surfaces with listeria monocytogenes. Consumption of the bacteria can cause food poisoning.
