RALEIGH, N.C. — The Republican National Committee and the state Republican Party said Monday that they are ramping up their organizing efforts to help with the U.S. Senate race in November and add to legislative gains made in recent years.

The Boots on the Ground effort will include field offices across North Carolina and incorporate outreach efforts to minority communities and mobile technology, officials said.

"Boots on the Ground is the earliest and most significant get-out-the-vote investment the RNC has ever made in North Carolina," Matt Pinnell, North Carolina director for the RNC, said in a statement. "We’re building a truly statewide grassroots network to mobilize our base and utilizing state-of-the-art mobile technology to turn out the vote."

GOP officials declined to say how much they are spending on the effort, which takes their traditional Victory efforts to a yearlong scale.

The effort will focus on recruiting and training precinct-level activists to mobilize voters. It also will expand of the African-American Engagement Office in Charlotte, which the RNC opened last fall, to build relationships between the party and black voters.

A mobile app will provide volunteers real-time information and easier access to data.

“The only way Republicans can gain a majority in the U.S. Senate is to win back North Carolina’s Senate seat," said state Rep. David Lewis, R-Harnett, an RNC committee member. "The NCGOP and RNC partnership will play a huge part in accomplishing that goal by reaching out to and mobilizing North Carolinians who want to move our country in a new direction."
