RALEIGH, N.C. — The State Auditor's Office has developed a smartphone app that allows anyone to report fraud, waste or abuse related to state government directly to investigators.
The new app extends the capabilities of the office's telephone tip line. By law, the names of those who report wrongdoing must be kept confidential, so the app allows anonymous reports.
Users can upload photos and videos to support their allegations, as well as provide a narrative of the alleged wrongdoing.
The application is supported by iPhones and phones that use an Android operating system.
