Report: Gunman shot, killed at Charlotte mall

WBTV is reporting that witnesses who were taking care of some last-minute Christmas shopping heard about seven shots fired at about 2:10 p.m.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A gunman was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer at the Northlake Mall in Charlotte Thursday afternoon, according to WBTV.

WBTV is reporting that witnesses who were taking care of some last-minute Christmas shopping heard about seven shots fired at about 2:10 p.m.

Charlotte police said off-duty officers were responding to an argument between two groups of people. No officers were injured.

One witness described shoppers running out of stores following the incident.

According to police, an armed person was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.

A Medic said one person was shot in the leg and taken to Novant Health Huntersville Hospital. Two other people were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with minor injuries, said WBTV.
