— Police have charged a Beaufort County repairman with rape after a woman said she was attacked after he fixed her stove.

The Daily Reflector of Greenville reported Wednesday that Arturo Raamos-Velasco, 33, of 52 Bradford St. in Chocowinity, is charged with second-degree rape.

The 20-year-old woman told police that she was attacked about 10 a.m. Monday in her living room with her 15-month-old son present.

Raamos-Velasco is being held without bond at the Pitt County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney.

CBS News affiliate WNCT reported that authorities suspect Velasco is in the country illegally and placed him under a detainer.

I feel terrible for the young woman who was raped while her 15 month old child was in the house, can you imagine how frightened that poor child must have been , God I hope that the child didn't see that happening to it's mother. If something in our home needs repairing and my husband can't fix it himself he makes sure he is here when whoever comes to do the repair is in our home

"Was this guy or his company on Angies List"

I don't trust Angie's List too much. I called a guy on their list. First off, he's never heard of Angie's List. When I called him, his first question was how did I get his number. Now, if you're a reputable repair person, why do you care how I got your number? When I told him, he continued to question me about it. I explained more than once what Angie's List is but he kept saying, "now, how did you get my number again?" Second, the reviews about him said he did small jobs which he says he doesn't do. Third, he kept saying he didn't know who I was and that he usually only did work for "repeat customers". Didn't sound above board to me at all. Haven't used Angie's List since.

IF TRUE, hang him from the nearest tree. I have absolutely no pity in my heart for rapists or those who abuse children, the elderly or the disabled. None!!!

Praying for the woman and her child.

Poor girl (and 15 month old)! In home repairmen should have thorough background checks done for this very reason. I, for one, will not allow my wife to be home alone when we send for a repair...best to err on the side of caution.
