Smart Shopper: Freebies

Bruegger’s Bagels will be kicking off the sale of the Bottomless Mug by hosting Free Coffee Day this Thursday, November 7 at all its 275 plus bakeries until 2 p.m. Guests who stop by can enjoy a free cup of coffee and donate spare change (or more) to help change a child’s life through the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In 2012, guests contributed more than $25,000 on Free Coffee Day.

The Bottomless Mug program began 11 years ago and has been donating a portion of the proceeds from every mug sold to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 2010.

Guests who purchase a Bottomless Mug for $169 receive free coffee, tea and soda for the remainder of 2013 and throughout 2014.

I forgot to mention, the way I got last years mug was by purchasing gift cards, I am hoping they will offer the same deal this year. Which was, for every 25 dollar gift card you received 5 dollar bakery bucks. I picked up 7 gift cards to cover the cost of the mug and I got to use 35 dollars in bakery bucks thru mid march I believe to buy their yummy bagels. So hopefully they will have the same deal this year.

When we first bought our mug about 5 or so years ago they were selling them for around $119 I believe. And every year they have gone up 10 bucks. Also, in the beginning they would give you a book of coupons for free monthly bakery items. But besides the increase, they are so worth it. My hubby gets his coffee every morning on the way to work and he really loves the quality of the mug itself. It keeps beverages hot or cold for hours. So, if you have a Brueggers nearby and love tea or coffee it is a really good investment.
