The annual Apex Prom Shoppe, which distributes prom dresses and accessories at no charge to teens in need, is gearing up for a busy couple of days.
The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 S. Hughes St., Apex.
Registration is not required for this. Teens, who need help gathering supplies for their upcoming proms, are welcome to come and "shop" the sale.
The Prom Shoppe is an outreach ministry of the Apex UMC Family of Faith Communities. It provides free dresses, shoes, jewelry and accessories to area teens who couldn't otherwise afford them.
