ST. LOUIS, MO — A 17-year-old related to a toddler that was killed in 2015 was questioned in the death of the teen suspected in his accidental death.

Kameron Harvey was killed in a drive-by shooting while on his bicycle in Bellefontaine Neighbors Oct. 4.

"Appears a likely motivating factor [in Harvey's death] was retaliation," said Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Detective Lt. Shawn Applegate.

Harvey was awaiting trial in the accidental death of Xavier Robinson, 3.

Authorities said Harvey, who was 15-years-old at the time, was visiting Robinson's older brother and playing with a gun that had an attached laser sight. Harvey was watching Robinson chase the laser beam along the living room floor, authorities said, when he shot Robinson in the abdomen.

Harvey, who was charged with manslaughter, was certified to be tried as an adult.

Two 17-year-old's were questioned by police following Harvey's death. Police said both of the teens were released and charges have not been filed because there is insufficient evidence, said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch.
