today. What we have is we have Riley, who is our 20 year old male lion that was brought in today because he had a fractured pre molars. It's actually seen commonly in Canaan and feel it's all together. What do you think they do all day? They do and they actual bone so again they will occasionally get a fracture of that, too. He has one of the oldest Lions and a Z A institutions. He's been at North Carolina Zoo for about 19 years. He's also sired multiple litters of cubs. All in all, he is a spectacular lion, and he's been a great father to all of his Cubs. There's a lot of challenges taking care of geriatric animals. We dio extensive training with him where the keepers are able to do voluntary blood draws. Of course, this is a deadly animal, so you can't share the same space. But he will present his tail for us. And we worked closely with BET team to dio quarterly blood draws who dedicated lots and lots of time to training this animal to allow us to pull his tail out of his enclosure and then get blood from him. and he gets meat ball treats for that entire procedure Way noticed during his last annual exam that he lost his body heat some of his body. He started to dissipate relatively quickly. He's covered with lots and lots of blankets. There's a heating pad underneath him on top of him. He has what we call a bear hugger, which is an air circulated heating unit circulated warm air throughout that there's water bags around him and the Sox are able another thing, cause you lose a lot of body. Get through your your feet, your hands. Same thing happens with animals, so we put socks on their feet. Prevent body temperature. Lost some unique challenges of dental work on an animal this size, Honestly, first thing is the size the level of dangerousness associated with doing animal that, if it was to wake up, could could could eat you. That's always an added thrill. And then, just because of the teeth are so big now they have really large roots. This is a three routed to, so there's three routes associated with this Moeller, so getting that route out whole can become complicated and difficult. We oftentimes will cut that tooth in multiple pieces. In an extractive, we ended up bringing in the dental team out from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine. That team does dental procedures multiple times a day, where I may do one a month s o the speed at which he was able to extract that, too, is probably half of what I would have taken me. I used to work in Brazil in the university of some power. So we also working with a little animal from the su there, like authors way have jack words on monkeys. So certain animals, it's a big animal. It So the teachers are harder. The instrument there need to be, you know, for, like, this kind of procedure. But I think that is exactly the same technique like in a capitals. The only thing is like the size changed a little bit. I was very happy with the procedure like a he did a brain is honesty. J was completely stabled in the fear that in these kind of animals is very important because it's like you can not spend too much time doing things you need to be go directly to the problem in terms of the dentistry procedure. I was very happy we were able to struck everything that we need to do.

A meteorologist, Elizabeth Gardner, I'm tracking a front that is going to bring us some scattered light rain today. This is not going to be a big beefy line of thunderstorms by any means, no thunder and the rain will be pretty light as it moves on through. Starting to see some of that in our northern counties this morning, we'll follow futurecast and push it ahead to lunchtime and you can see it's a slow mover, but there's not going to be a whole lot of rain with it from Roanoke Rapids down through Durham at around lunchtime as we head into say, two or three o'clock in the afternoon. Rocky Mount May a little bit in Raleigh and down towards Southern Pines and then closer to the evening commute, Fayetteville, Clinton, Goldsboro, parts of Harnett and Johnston counties. But it looks like for the most part, um, our most heavily traveled roads in, uh, in the triangle should be dry by the evening commute. That front continues to move on through and it clears this out with sunshine for the rest of the work week. Lake Gaston looking cloudy right now with the clouds there and, uh, the rain starting to push in. Temperatures have been in the mid fifties this morning, we'll climb on up into the upper six is closer to lunchtime and then, uh, we'll continue to see those nice mild temperatures this afternoon. 74 in Raleigh and Durham, 81 potentially for the high in Fayetteville. Later today, the Durham Bulls continue their home stand. It looks like the rains out of there. Well, before their 630 start time, 71 degrees at six o'clock, 630 Thursday and Friday. Lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures continue near 70. I mean, it just doesn't really get much better than that. And weekend events look great, especially Saturday. This is bral, a big event in downtown Raleigh. Temperatures will be in the mid seventies during the afternoon, under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. So looking good. Definitely a mild week up until Saturday. Our normal high is 75 and we're close to that, but 81 on Sunday, that's going to be the beginning of a different weather pattern. 81 on Sunday does not get us to a record. The record is 90. But by Tuesday when we hit 89 we'll only be a degree from the record. So we are aiming toward record highs by the end of the seven day forecast, which is right now on Tuesday and it looks dry too today, really our best chance of rain and it will be light less than 1/10 of an inch.
