Cary's Winter Wonderland

Cary is gearing up for its popular Winter Wonderland event at Bond Park.

This year, it's set for Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 at the park's spillway. Snow My Yard will provide the snow each morning and between sessions as times allow. Snow tubes are provided (participants are asked not to bring their own).

The event includes snow tubing areas designed for various skill levels - from the top of the hill all the way to the bottom for the confident tubers and another that starts midway down for the little ones, according to the town's website. Registered parents can help their kids as needed. Snow tubing is for single riders only, ages 5 and up. New this year is a special parent-child session for kids younger than 5 who would like to tube with a parent (but not an older sibling).

Spots fill up pretty quickly for Winter Wonderland. Registration is open now for Cary residents. It will be open starting Monday, Dec. 19, for non-Cary residents. The fee is $18 per person (ages 5 and up), for single rider sessions, and $18 per pair for the parent-child session. Registration will not be available on the day of the event.

Cary's website has more information.
