Raleigh's January to April issue of its Leisure Ledger, where you'll find all the information about the city parks department's various programs, is online. Registration begins Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Every municipal parks department publishes similar catalogs, listing everything from mommy and me movement classes to programs for teens and adults. These are often great places to find inexpensive activities for your kids and family. I highly recommend checking them out. My kids have really enjoyed the swim lessons and sports programs that they've participated in through the city.
Best of all, you don't have to live in the particular community to take sign up for the programs (though you may have to pay a little extra).
