Record number of people visit State Fair on Friday

The N.C. State Fair set an attendance record for the second straight day Friday when 90,960 people passed through the gates.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. State Fair set an attendance record for the second straight day Friday when 90,960 people passed through the gates.

The previous record of 77,485 was set in 2010.

Through two days, more than 141,000 people have come to Raleigh to take part in the food and fun.

Weather won't keep anyone away over the next several days. Sunshine is the dominant feature of the forecast through the end of next week, and highs will be anywhere from the upper 50s on Sunday to the mid-70s by late next week.
