Savory Citrus Salad

This recipe from Southern Season offers a new opportunity to use all of that citrus in the produce department right now. It sounds like a yummy, fresh and easy side for a special Valentine's Day dinner and a great addition to a lunch box.

Southern Season is offering a variety of special events and activities in the next couple of weeks to mark Valentine's Day, including a chocolate extravaganza, a Valentine's Day dinner and a Valentine's Day brunch. Southern Season's website has the details!
Savory Citrus Salad
2 navel oranges, peeled and sliced
1 Valencia orange, peeled and sliced
1 blood orange, peeled and sliced
1 grapefruit, supreme
¼ heaping cup marcona almonds
1 shallot, minced
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp honey
¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste

Minced chives for garnish

Directions:

1. While prepping fruit, squeeze any remaining juice into a bowl. Add shallot, salt, pepper, mustard to the bowl. Whisk. Whisking constantly add oil. Arrange fruit and almonds on a plate. Drizzle with the dressing.
