Recipe: Julia Sims' spiced pecans
This isn't an old family recipe, rather one a friend passed along to me a few years back. It's a good one ... and the thing I like most about it: It's quick and easy!

Editor's Note: We're sharing holiday recipes this week. Here's Lynda Loveland's chocolate cake recipe, Renee Chou's apple walnut cake and more in on our Holiday Recipe page.
For me, pecans are always synonymous with the holidays.
And, of course any time you have them, you're also likely to have that age-old discussion about how you *really* say pecan! I live in a house-divided: I say pick-KAHN. Mike says pee-CAN.

Spiced Pecans
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
3/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (I usually add a bit more!)
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
2 cups pecans
Preheat oven to 350
Mix ingredients then add 4 teaspoons of water and mix.
Place nuts in single layer on parchment paper-lined cookie sheet
Bake 10-12 minutes
Cool
Enjoy!
