I know someone who picked up a couple of buses at one of these auctions- made GOOD money on the resale of them.

    vehicles?

I used to go to auctions, but too many people bid up the prices beyond ridiculous. It's not about getting a deal, it's about winning the bid at any cost with some of these people.

"Paranoia aside it's not a ripoff. What it is, is stupid people getting carried away in bidding wars. It happens at auctions all the time."

No paranoia here!! You must not have read what I said. I actually WENT to this auction a couple of years ago. Someone stole one of the items I was interested in before it went on the auction block. There was a TV there that went higher than what they go for in the store, with no guarantee that the TV actually powered on! Big waste of 3 hours the one I went to. No deals to be had.....

This looks like the worst auction ever.

"They are auctioning off a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups? What on earth?"

If you look closer that is a pillow, not real peanut butter cups!

Yeah, they deserve to be able to have an easier way sit around a bar and get drunk. Ditto to what Scaramouche said about the church.

VFW yes, church no. Churches already have too good of a racket going.
