GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Wayne County home was broken into Tuesday afternoon, and three rare guns were stolen, authorities said Wednesday.

Max Best reported that his home on Miller's Chapel Road was burglarized Tuesday, and the thieves stole two 1849 Springfield Muskets with bayonets attached and one 8-millimeter Mauser rifle, authorities said. The uniqueness of the firearms makes it difficult to determine their value.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at 919-731-1481 or Wayne County Crimestoppers at 735-2255.
