FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Sampson County man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl surrendered at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Monday.

Tyler Jamarr Wortham, 26, of 225 Sunshine Lake in Clinton, was charged with statutory rape, taking indecent liberties with a minor, crimes against nature and statutory sex offense.

Investigators said Wortham forced the girl to take money from an ATM and then drove her to a motel in Fayetteville. The girl told police she was forced to engage in sexual acts with Wortham on Wednesday and Thursday.

He is being held in the Cumberland County jail on a $202,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Wortham was placed on probation last November for a common-law robbery conviction in Sampson County, according to state Department of Correction records.
