HIGH POINT, N.C. — A Randolph County man has been arrested and charged with murder in the stabbing death of his father.
Multiple media outlets reported that officers were called to a house outside High Point on Sunday and found the body of 79-year-old Garland Lee Manns.
A sheriff's department news release said Manns suffered several stab wounds. An autopsy was scheduled Tuesday at the State Medical Examiners' Office in Raleigh.
The statement said 56-year-old Jerry Manns told investigators he and his father fought Oct. 11 and his father died.
The younger man is being held in the Randolph County jail. It was not known if he has an attorney.
