RALEIGH, N.C. — Fairgoers who plan to use Blue Ridge Road via Wade Avenue to drive to the North Carolina State Fair will have to use an alternate route on the final weekend of festivities.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers will close the eastbound and westbound exit ramps from Wade Avenue to Blue Ridge Road from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to help ease heavy traffic volume.

Drivers will be allowed to access Wade Avenue from Blue Ridge Road throughout the weekend.

Highway Patrol officials urged drivers to use Edwards Mill Road when traveling to the fairgrounds.
