Raleigh, N.C. — A single-vehicle wreck shut down both sides of Wade Avenue in Raleigh Sunday evening, police said.
A Mazda Miata crashed into power pole at Wade Avenue and Faircloth Street and overturned. The pole broke in half and fell across the road, trailing live wires.
Authorities said that the driver of the car was taken to a local hospital but is expected to be OK.
Power has been restored to most of the approximately 625 Progress Energy customers who lost power.
