Raleigh, N.C. — A Raleigh woman is facing charges after a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning on Interstate 440 at Western Boulevard, police said.
Investigators say Leslie Gemmell, 31, plowed into the back of another car and then drove off. She was later arrested and charged with felony hit and run and driving while impaired.
The victim, whose name was released, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Police say Gemmell had been drinking alcohol and also seemed to be under the influence of another impairing substance. Investigators are waiting on the results of a blood test, which could take several weeks.
