Wake County, N.C. — A Raleigh woman has won $158,768 in a Carolina Cash 5 game, North Carolina Education Lottery officials said Tuesday.
Pamela Storey said she plans to use her winnings from the Jan. 31 drawing to buy a car, help pay for her son’s education and save for the future.
“It’s just a shock to me,” Storey said. “It’s like when you wake up in the morning and you’ve dreamed something.”
Storey purchased her winning ticket, worth $107,962 after taxes, at the Han-Dee Hugo’s on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh. She matched all five numbers, beating odds of 1 in 575,757 to win.
