— Raleigh police were searching Sunday for a 69-year-old woman who was reported missing five days ago.

Evanir Rosa Rogolio was last seen at her home at 9405 Brook Garden Court in north Raleigh Wednesday afternoon. Her daughter, Alcenira Duckworth, said she came home from work to find her missing.

Rogolio speaks only Portuguese, police said. Her daughter said that she rarely leaves the house, can't drive and doesn't have money or a cell phone with her.

Duckworth said the family moved to the area from Cary a month ago, so Rogolio doesn't have any friends she would go to see. Relatives haven't found her in searches of the neighborhood or nearby hospitals.

Police said they do not suspect foul play but want to ensure Rogolio's well-being.

Anyone who knows of Rogolio's whereabouts or might have seen her should call Raleigh police at 919-996-3335.

I haven't heard any follow-up information about this elderly woman's disappearance....has she been found?! I have been feeling bad for the daughter over the holidays. I live not too far away - could one of her neighbors have done her harm? People don't just disappear like that when they're dependent on someone else. Why so little information?!

"This is so strange.....Why is this not a national headline and why are all those involved so seemingly at ease w this?"

If every able-bodied adult that went missing made national news, it would fill all the newspapers every day. No sign of foul play, no known dementia, what else can they do? Hope it turns out well, you never know.
