Raleigh wetland center seeks name ideas for new turtle

Posted March 22

The Walnut Creek Wetland Center is now home to a rescued 10-year-old eastern box turtle, but he needs a name.

The center is seeking suggestions from the public. Individuals can offer up to three names. Submissions are due by Thursday, March 24. The winner will be announced April 8 and win a Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Turtle Prize Pack. You can submit your ideas online.

April will be Turtle Month at the center on Peterson Street near downtown Raleigh. The center educates the public about the importance of wetlands and offers a variety of special events and programs for kids and adults.
