Raleigh Tutoring offers ACT, SAT test prep

Posted January 27, 2014

A new test means scores are likely to be low. The Department of Public Instruction is trying to manage expectations when scores are released Nov. 7, 2013.

Raleigh Tutoring is offering boot camps to help high schoolers prepare for both the SATs and ACTs.

SAT boot camps are March 1 and April 26. ACT boot camps are slated for Feb. 22 and May 31. Kids will learn SAT and ACT test-taking strategies and skills.

The Feb. 22 ACT boot camp is scheduled just before juniors in North Carolina take the standardized test in March. The session at the Wade Edwards Foundation and Learning Lab across from Broughton High School will cover topics including ACT fundamentals and strategies, test content and structure, and practice and review. The instructors are certified teachers and ACT experts. The class is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $150 fee includes an ACT book and other materials.

For more information about the Feb. 22 program and the other boot camps, check Raleigh Tutoring's website.
