Raleigh sex offender accused of lurking near school bus stop

Posted October 25, 2012

— Raleigh police say a convicted sex offender was loitering near a school bus stop on Maybrook Crossing Drive Thursday as 15 to 20 children waited for the bus.

James Edward Anderson, 39, of 1420 S. Wilmington St., was charged with being a sex offender on a child's premises and possession of marijuana. He was placed in the Wake County jail under $10,500 bond.

Police said Anderson knew that the bus stop was for children and that he knowingly lingered nearby.

"He was placed in the Wake County jail under $10,500 bond."

That's a joke. Endangering children should never result in a bond less than $1 million. That would keep him in jail/prison and would keep children safe from him for a while, since our current laws seem to do little to do so.

My mind goes to intent. Leave homeless shelter, travel over seven miles to bus stop, you fill in the rest.

Seems like he has better conditions in prison with three hots and a cot. Maybe a little "Hard Time" will cure him of the country club life style of playing basketball and watching TV all day on the tax payers dime.

    Love it!!!! Exactly!!!

lurking? lingering? Are these crimes? If the guy doesn't belong on the streets, they should have kept him in prison instead of making him everyone elses problem.
