Posted February 17, 2016

The city of Raleigh is gearing up for another year of its Summer Youth Employment Program.

The program gives teens ages 15 to 18 a chance to develop their skills by spending a summer working for the city. Jobs include office staffers, light labor and recreation counselors. They work 20 to 30 hours a week and earn $7.25 an hour. Teens must live inside Raleigh's city limits to apply. About 175 positions are available.

Teens also can participate in workshops and a mentoring program.

Interviews are slated for March 3 to March 31 at community centers around the city. The jobs run from June 13 to Aug. 12.

Raleigh's website has more information and the online application with interview dates and locations.
