The Raleigh parks department and The City of Oaks Foundation is seeking applicants for its Give Play scholarship, which helps kids ages 7 to 17 attend a week of summer camp for free.

The program is designed to "remove barriers to youth participation in outdoor, nature-based programs," according to a press release. Each camp offers an opportunity to focus on everything from art to outdoor adventure.

The camps take place at locations around Raleigh. Weekly sessions run June 8 to Aug. 7.

Completed applications, which include a recommendation from an adult who knows the child, are due March 16. Kids will know if they have a spot in the camp by April 13. A scholarship award and orientation event will be held April 27.

Raleigh parks' website has more information and the application (Search for "Give Play" once you get to the Raleigh parks page).
