Raleigh Roads Re-Opened After Wreck Brings Downs Wires
Downed wires resulting from an early morning traffic incident at the intersection of Hammond Road and Rush Street detoured rush-hour traffic Wednesday morning. The streets were re-opened by 11:30 a.m., police said.

There were no serious injuries in the single-vehicle, hit-and-run wreck that started the problems at the intersection, according to police, and there were no injuries when a tractor-trailer subsequently became tangled in downed wires.
The original hit-and-run vehicle and its driver were located nearby. The driver was in custody.
The wreck happened about 2:30 a.m.
