RALEIGH, N.C. — Police seized an iPhone and several computers from the home of a Raleigh man accused of raping a woman last month after being with her at a local bar.

Ryan Alan Craigie, 24, of 9405 S. Mere Court, was arrested Sept. 12 on a charge of first-degree rape after the woman told police she woke up injured and in pain.

According to search warrants made public Monday, the woman and Craigie had previously met each other, exchanged numbers and chatted over text message before the Aug. 30 meeting at Brooklyn Heights Bar on Glenwood Avenue.

The woman told police she recalled having a shot of liquor with Craigie and a friend of his and then waking up the next day in a bedroom at his home, unaware of where she was.

A friend of the woman reported seeing her "extremely intoxicated" and then leaving with Craigie and his friend, according to the arrest warrant.

"The victim confronted Ryan about not having any memory of the night's events, and Ryan stated that he also had no account of the night's events," an affidavit with the search warrant states.

In addition to the electronics, police also seized a comforter, bed sheet and mattress, as well as other items from Craigie's home.

Craigie, who was released from the Wake County Detention Center Sept. 13 on a $50,000 secured bond, works as an installation technician for Time Warner Cable, according to an arrest report.

Scott Pryzwansky, a company spokesman, said in a statement Tuesday evening that Craigie was immediately removed from his position after his arrest, pending the outcome of the police investigation.

"He was suspended and is no longer actively working on behalf of the company," Pryzwansky said.
