Raleigh ranked fifth 'can-do' city by Newsweek

Newsweek magazine has ranked Raleigh among the nation's top 15 "Can-Do American Cities."

RALEIGH, N.C. — Newsweek magazine has ranked Raleigh among the nation's top 15 "Can-Do American Cities."

The city tied for fifth place on a list of metropolitan areas ranked on sustainability, transportation and infrastructure, livability and business development.

Omaha, Neb., Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Buffalo, N.Y., also tied for fifth place.

El Paso, Texas, took the top of the list, followed by Oakland, Calif., Riverside, Calif., and San Antonio, Texas.

Austin, Texas, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas, and Portland, Ore., also made the list.

The list appears in the Sept. 19 issue of Newsweek.
