RALEIGH, N.C. — Teams of two testing their language, geography and cultural knowledge in a race "around the world." Sounds a lot like a popular CBS show, but this particular race is happening right here in Raleigh.
The 2013 Raleigh Race Around the World is a three day competition happening during the annual International Festival of Raleigh in October. The race will be hosted by Raleigh's own, Bates Battaglia, winner of season 22 of "The Amazing Race."
To be considered, you need to submit a two-minute audition video to the race's Facebook page or email it to mdbeard@internationalfocusnc.org. Teams are encouraged to get creative with the video and their team name. The upload deadline is midnight Sept. 2.

The race will be unveiling a YouTube channel so the public can help pick the top 20 semi-finalists. The semi-finalists will be given their first challenge on Sept. 6. The results of that challenge will determine the eight teams competing in the 2013 race.

The 2013 grand prize is a five night stay at the Mango Rosa resort in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua! Looks really nice!

Who is going to enter? Out and About is considering entering a team.
