Here is a tasty tid-bit for everyone who is all "hoping the home-owner shot the home invaders"...I live in the neighboorhood, and a few months prior to the shooting there was an unmarked car with three SWAT members banging on this guys door. All of a sudden he is supposed to have wrestled a gun away from three or four guys and shoot two of them? Another newsflash, he let those guys in the house...they were seen crawling out from under his garage door. More? After the guys took off he was seen re-entering his house looking quite intact, then re-emerged to greet the police with a ripped shirt. That guy is sketch-town. The whole situation was wrong, he let them in and something went wrong.

"The guns could have been purchased at gun shows...no background check required!"

Have you ever been to a gun show? There's one in Raleigh May 3-4. Go try to buy a gun without a background check ... it's almost entirely licensed dealers who run checks on everyone. It's not like people have tables covered with guns that they'll sell to anyone with cash. I've been to dozens of gun shows and with the exception of a few people selling antique rifles, there's almost NOBODY privately selling weapons.

It's okay if you don't like guns and argue that we should ban them ... that's democracy.

It's NOT okay if you have absolutely no idea what you're taking about and make decisions based on inaccurate information.

****Because not all laws infringe on Constitutional and civil rights of law abiding citizens.

Little by little any US CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS that you think you might have are being taken from us. In some NC COUNTIES, it is said to be legal to enter a 3rd party's residence without a search warrant OR without permission to enter to see IF there is a *GUEST* that might have a warrant against them. So I guess the *search and seizure* Constitutional Right no longer exists.

the reasons that people were calling for Washington terrace to be torn down, but not this neighborhood are: because multiple shootings haven't taken place here in the last year...because multiple murders haven't taken place here in the last 3 years...and because violent crime is not a chronic issue in this neighborhood...not to mention the rampant drug dealing in Washington terrace...not to mention that people can probably walk through this neighborhood without being approached or hassled (as in Washington terrace)...we all know that crime happens everywhere, but some neighborhoods seem to have higher concentrations of crime...such as Washington terrace...

and yes, I have been to and know people who live in both these areas so yes, I do know enough to comment...

i find it interesting that when the home invasion and shooting was in washington terrace the neighborhood needed to be torn down. now this one but no one is talking about how bad the neighborhood is. i said then and i will say it again... i lived all over raleigh and garner and north raleigh was worse... i live near rex now and my nice neighbor was arrested night before last for trafficking... none of us knew it or that he had 12 assault rifles in the house. i said all this to say... crime is everywhere. the faster people realize it the better off we all will be.

"Thats ridiculous. The more you give them the more they want. And its not my responsibility to pay for others lack of it."

I guess you missed the sarcasm.
