— Raleigh police were still searching Tuesday for a 15-year-old girl who went missing Thursday from a home in the 700 block of Carolina Avenue.

Arielle Renee Williams-Stevenson is black, stands about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 90 pounds. She has medium-length brown hair and brown eyes.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for William-Stevenson at about noon Thursday.

She was last seen wearing gray shorts and a black Adidas hooded sweatshirt.

It wasn't clear where Williams-Stevenson may be headed. Anyone with information about her should contact the Raleigh Police Department at 919-831-6311.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.

I pray she is found soon and safe. I cannot fathom how scary this must be for the family.

Silver alert for a 15yo...possible autism? Perhaps checking local streams and rivers would be a start. Children with autism tend to "gravitate" to these areas.
