Raleigh police seek public's help in identifying armed robbery suspect

Raleigh investigators released two surveillance photos of a man they believe is responsible for four convenience store robberies in May and June.

  • May 8 at the BP, 2570 S. Wilmington Street, reported at 10:59 p.m.
  • June 4 at the Handee Hugo’s, 2837 Wake Forest Road, reported at 2:03 a.m.
  • June 7 at the Handee Hugo’s, 2800 Tryon Road, reported at 12:39 a.m.
  • June 27 at the Handee Hugo’s, 2581 Gorman Street, reported at 1:42 a.m.

In each robbery, police said the man was armed with a dark revolver and wore various hoodies, including a white one with the word “Hollister” on the front in red lettering and a white one with a large eagle on the back.

    What's the young white male look, most young black and white males dress very much alike, other than skin color obviously. The stereotype is the problem with most ppl over the age of 30.

    No, your point? Mine is that the common look for young black males is saggy pants, hoodies and facial hair. When a crime is committed, the police are looking for this description most of the time, and everywhere you look you see it.

    High definition security systems cost a pretty penny. To me, it's a good investment, but I can see how it might be a tough decision for small business owners...cameras won't stop the theft, they are really only useful after the fact, so you'll lose that cash anyway, and you'll pay more to see the crime clearly.

    Yep. Looks like all the other robbery suspect photos. We can get High Def pics from outer space but can't get a decent pic from a convenience store camera. Even my cellphone takes better pics than this.

    Looks like most every other young black male walking around. It's easy to blend in when most of them dress alike.
