Raleigh police seek leads to find missing teen

Posted July 21, 2013

— Raleigh police are asking for the public's help to find a 15-year-old girl who's been missing since February.

Laura Hourigan, a spokeswoman for the Raleigh Police Department, said Sunday night that detectives and family members have "exhausted all efforts" to find Brenda Regules Hernandez.

Hernandez, who goes by the nickname "Sleepy Loca," is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds.

Hourigan said investigators don't believe foul play is involved in Hernandez's disappearance and that they believe she might still be in the Triangle or surrounding area.

Anyone with any information about Hernandez is asked to contact the Raleigh Police Department at 919-834-4357.

bayelvington, I read about it in several WRAL articals when she first went missing back in Febuary. I'm not sure why you missed it but this story was in the news at that time.

Why is this just now being reported to the media, the crucial time for getting the information out to the public is immediately? Also why is she not listed in NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children)or NamUs.gov. Raleigh PD may need to update their procedures when a child is reported missing. Human Trafficking is a real concern for young girls who go missing. Quick action of notifying media has proven to bring the missing home sooner. The old days of hush, keep quiet, we'll find her are over. FB is your best resource, her flyer could have been shared all over America by now. SAD.. SAD.. SAD. I pray she is found safe!!
