Raleigh police seek bank robber

Posted July 25, 2011

— Police released surveillance images of a man who robbed a bank on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh Monday afternoon in the hopes that someone from the public will recognize him and come forward.

At about 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Bank of America, at 5005 Capital Boulevard, where tellers said a man approached the counter, passed a note to a teller demanding money and implied that he was armed.

The man fled the bank on foot.

He is described as an older black man with a goatee and salt-and-pepper hair. He stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing a gray T-shirt with blue stripes on the sleeves and red lettering, a black-brimmed, white baseball cap with a yellow logo and dark-colored pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP.

This is the clearest bank robbery photo ever! Shouldn't take long to figure out who he is...

They post this story 6 hours after the bank robbery and after comments closed. The one in Durham thay had posted in about 1 1/2 hrs and let someone with a racially offensive name post and WILL NOT remove. WRAL should be ashamed.

Is there a bank in Raleigh that HASNT been robbed?? Raleigh is so dangerous!!
SARCASM. Notice no comments when Raleigh bank is robbed, but the trolls come out for a Durham bank robbery. WRAL is SO biased towards Durham. Look at their weather map..NEVER a temp in Durham. Just raleigh, airport and chapel Hill
