RALEIGH, N.C. — An 11-year-old boy reported missing Friday was found safe Saturday night, Raleigh police said.

Quantico Duprell Parker Jr. got on the wrong school bus at Walnut Creek Elementary Friday afternoon and was last seen playing basketball with friends in the area of Shepard Valley Street and Follow Me Way, off Rock Quarry Road in southeast Raleigh, at about 8 p.m. Friday.

Authorities received a tip that someone matching Parker's description was seen near the Red Hat Amphitheater at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Officers expanded their search area to include downtown Raleigh.

"Anytime you hear anything involving a child, particularly a very young child, it's concerning," said Raleigh Deputy Police Chief Joseph Perry.

It is believed Quantico did not disappear under suspicious circumstances, police said. He was reunited with his family Saturday night.

No further information surrounding Quantico's disappearance was immediately available.
