Posted February 18, 2009

— Raleigh police and State Bureau of Investigation agents Tuesday helped New Bern police track down a man wanted in a fatal shooting.

Authorities stopped Stan Dale Williams, 27, as he drove in Kinston around 4 a.m. He was wanted in connection with a killing at Club Insomnia in New Bern.

Police charged Williams with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a weapon into occupied property and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Authorities placed him in the Craven County Jail under a $1 million bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.

Williams was released from the N.C. Department of Correction on Nov. 27, 2008, after serving time for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, police said.

Oftenbad- he is wanted "in connection with"- does not mean he pulled the trigger, maybe I am wrong, but I see being connected with something to be different than actually doing it yourself. Maybe they don't know who pulled the trigger, maybe several people were there all pointing fingers at one another as the trigger man, perhaps it is still in the invesitigative stages.

Let me guess - he was on probation right? Maybe if we quit supplying criminals with 3 free meals a day, free healthcare, free clothes, free heat, etc., maybe they wouldn't be so quick to go back to prison!
