— Police were called to a possible multiple shooting Monday evening along the 500 block of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

Authorities told WRAL News that Wake County 911 dispatch received a report at about 9 p.m. that a woman was claiming she shot her two children and husband. The woman also claimed she was going to commit suicide, authorities said.

Police then began searching multiple areas in downtown Raleigh for the source of the call.

As of 2 a.m. Tuesday, police had not found the woman. Police said their investigation was complete.

Which is the reason that a lot of bad guys prefer those prepaid cell phones. They are almost impossible to track.

You can buy a prepaid cell phone, and it will not give any information, other than from which tower the call is coming from. They are so cheap, that they don't even have the gps chip on them.

I thought it was against the law to make a false 911 call. I think the police should continue the investigation regarding this story. Something's not right about this!

Probably another drunk from one of the bars like the guy that broke into the state capital building.

Sounds like a Hoax. Maybe they used an old disabled cell phone that is no longer in service. They are still able to make 911 calls. unfortunately, many parents give old cell phones to their kids to play with like toys. The responsible thing to do is remove the battery before you hand your old phone to the kids to play with.

I thought 911 had Caller ID? I know in past when dialling the 919 area code I accidently hit 911 and hung up before anyone answered. I got calls back asking if there was an emergency.
