Raleigh police: Rabid raccoon had contact with dog
Raleigh police said Thursday that a rabid raccoon came in contact with a dog last week in the 3400 block of Alamance Drive.

Animal control officers responding to the area found the raccoon, and it subsequently tested positive for rabies.
Officials said the dog was up to date on its rabies vaccination, and the owner was advised to have the dog get a booster.
The raccoon did not have any contact with humans, police said.
