Raleigh police probe shooting

— Raleigh police were investigating a shooting at about 10:30 p.m. Monday along the 500 block of Rush Street.

Quann Payton, 30, was shot in the lower stomach as he stood on a corner, authorities said. Emergency crews took him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said they believe the shooting was part of an attempted robbery.
