Raleigh police officer charged with DWI

— A Raleigh police officer was charged Friday morning with driving while impaired.

An officer pulled over Samuel Kilgore for suspected drunken driving in 1200 block of South Saunders Street.

He was charged with DWI after failing a sobriety test.

Kilgore has been employed by the department since December 2005.

    The guy made a mistake. I hope RPD cuts him some slack. We all make mistakes.

    Glad they are charging him. It's good to show that they do police their own and are not above the law.
