Nothing against the RPD or any other law enforcement agency. I respect what they do. However, I have on several occasions observed officers with their heads down looking at what seemed to be a computer while their vehicles were in motion.

""Could be a cop on his in-car computer, driving and not paying attention." dwntwnboy

Could be a golo'er not paying attention, cop was not at fault. Other media outlets report it as, "Drunk driver strikes police cruiser".

"I know you were just hoping it was the officer's fault so you could whine about it, but now you don't." - thepeopleschamp...if you read my ENTIRE post it read that it could have been one or the other. If I want to complain about LEO's I can always post on the story about the 2 FIRED SHP officers double dipping and a third one retiring before the hammer fell on him. So go back to sleep or pay closer attention!

let your local, state, and federal legislators know you want them to ban sub woofers in cars and limit car amplifiers to 100 watts

Hope both drivers are ok. There are some really good people who work for RPD.

Looks like this one is going down as a DUI incident.

"there goes more tax dollars out the window!!!" Journey985

The drunk driver's insurance should pay for the police car damage. I know you were just hoping it was the officer's fault so you could whine about it, but now you don't.

As a former law enforcement officer I can tell that time of morning there is usually only two types of people on the road, cops and drunks.

It's very clear that blame needs to be placed here...because it's so incredibly important that the RPD be found at fault, a woman at fault, an oversize ( after market floor mat ), fly by wire accelorator/brakes, pot hole in the road neglected by the state, someone texting, a distracting fly by UFO. Everyone has an excuse in life and everyone feels compelled to lay blame rather than say " I made a mistake ".
