RALEIGH, N.C. — A 33-year-old Raleigh woman was charged with driving while impaired Sunday after she crossed the center line and crashed into an oncoming car, killing the driver, according to Raleigh police.

Latisha Nivcole Dixon, of 4116 Mindspring Drive, was driving a Dodge Stratus south on New Hope Road towards Rock Quarry Road shortly before 6:40 a.m. when she crashed head-on into a Hyundai Sonata driven by Terrance Tyreek Smallwood, 22, according to investigators.

Smallwood died at WakeMed, police said.

Dixon was taken to WakeMed with serious but not life-threatening injuries. She was arrested earlier this year, in January, and charged with driving with a revoked license, according to arrest records.
