Raleigh woman charged with DWI after fatal crash
A 33-year-old Raleigh woman was charged with driving while impaired Sunday after she crossed the center line and crashed into an oncoming car, killing the driver, according to Raleigh police.
Posted — UpdatedLatisha Nivcole Dixon, of 4116 Mindspring Drive, was driving a Dodge Stratus south on New Hope Road towards Rock Quarry Road shortly before 6:40 a.m. when she crashed head-on into a Hyundai Sonata driven by Terrance Tyreek Smallwood, 22, according to investigators.
Smallwood died at WakeMed, police said.
Dixon was taken to WakeMed with serious but not life-threatening injuries. She was arrested earlier this year, in January, and charged with driving with a revoked license, according to arrest records.
