Raleigh police said Friday they have charged a suspect in the 1971 shooting death of a cab driver.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Raleigh police said Friday they have charged a suspect in the 1971 shooting death of a cab driver.

Officers went to 100 E. Bragg St. about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, 1971, and found Ralph Smith, 51, lying dead outside of his cab.

Homicide detectives continued to look into the case over the years and said they developed enough evidence to arrest Sinatra Dunn, 70, of Carrboro.

Police did not provide more details about the case or say what led to Dunn’s arrest.<br />
