Raleigh police investigate shooting on Oakwood Avenue

— Raleigh police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday afternoon on Oakwood Avenue.

Dramon More Watson, 20, was shot in the cheek at 1809 Oakwood Ave. just before 2 p.m., police said.

Watson was with a group of people outside of the home when shots were fired at them. He was struck and was dropped off at nearby WakeMed for treatment, according to hospital officials.

The shooting remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.

    You are more likely to die in a car accident on your way to Raleigh then to get shot in raleigh. The murder rate is quite low for a city and most of the violent crime is in a few block area in SE Raleigh.

    This is the reason that I never go to Raleigh - too many shootings and it is simply not safe.
