Raleigh police investigate baby's death

Officers were called to 5722 Palomino Drive on Nov. 14 in response to a report that an infant wasn't breathing, according to an affidavit for a search warrant. According to the affidavit, the person caring for the 4-month-old told officers that the baby choked on formula.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby last month.

Officers were called to 5722 Palomino Drive in Raleigh on Nov. 14 in response to a report that an infant wasn't breathing, according to an affidavit for a search warrant. According to the affidavit, the person caring for the child told officers that the baby choked on formula.

The unidentified child died at Rex Hospital. Police are waiting on autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

Officers seized a baby bottle containing four ounces of white liquid, a pink wash cloth, a white baby wipe, a pink onesie and a pink sleeper form the home, according to the search warrant.
