The son of Raleigh's police chief is facing a felony charge for possessing a stolen motor vehicle, according to police records.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The son of Raleigh's police chief on Wednesday is facing a felony charge for possessing a stolen dirt bike, according to police records.

David Louis Brown II, 24, of Raleigh, was arrested on Tuesday on Capital Boulevard after police found him with a stolen 2003 dirt bike, according to police records. Brown is the son of Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown.

Jail officials said Brown made his first court appearance on Tuesday and bonded out of jail.

Brown has two previous criminal charges, including defrauding an innkeeper and failure to return property.
