Posted September 28, 2010

— Raleigh police arrested a carjacking suspect after a short foot chase early Tuesday.

Treyveon Devonte Fennell, 18, approached a man at Ample Storage Centers, 1807 Capital Blvd., around 12:30 a.m. and asked him for money, according to police.

When the man said he didn't have any money, Fennell stole his minivan, police said.

Officers found the van within 5 minutes and took Fennell into custody after a short chase. He was being held on a $101,000 bond. No other information was released.

Not sure why everyone is attacking his parents! @ johnnyboy, I am his mother and he was taught very well thank you! He also is a smart child, my son just chose to hang around the wrong crowd and allow peer pressure to continue getting him in trouble. His dad has been serving for this country for 18 yrs to help secure all of our freedom and he also has tried his best with our son. Don't always assume that it is the PARENTS fault when kids break the law because he grew up in the same house with my daughter and she also is serving our country. My son just has been wanting so hard to act like he is from the streets and he is not, I tried my best as a parent to keep him around good influences but when a child has their own mind what is a parent to do. My son isn't going to murder anyone so that comment shouldn't have been said,he is not dumb by no means, he graduated from high school and scored high on the military test, peer pressure is very strong please pray for me his family and my son

He hasn't killed anyone yet?? It's only a matter of time before he does WHEN he gets back on the streets in a few hours.

imnotsayinimjustsayin you hit the nail on the head. He hasn't killed anyone yet, so why punish him?

And the Wake County school policy change will surely make things tougher on kids not help them to learn and know better.....its easy to sit here and say lock him up, its harder to figure out how to prevent this from happening. Then he would have grown up to be a good parent one day, but instead the cycle continues and close minded conservative politics insists that it must....

Good Job RPD...too bad the judicial system will run him through & have him back on the streets before your paperwork is completed.

This country has tons of losers. And more are being turned loose into society everyday. Personally, each time you are arrested and charged with a crime, you should have your government assistance reduced. I say, "Nice job to this kids' parent."
